In the 17th century, when it was built, the estate hosted the lords of Sassenage during their visits to the Vercors for hunting and collecting tithes in the form of the local cheese, Bleu de Sassenage-Vercors.
Captivated by the character of the estate, Dimitri, a lover of stone and nature, decided in 2004 to restore the château’s tradition of hospitality and grandeur. Five years of renovation later, the challenge was met! The renovation of the Château des Girards’ grand interior spaces transformed it into a luxurious residence, combining modern comfort with authentic charm.

In 2012 and 2013, the outdoor facilities (pool, spa, teak terrace) and the construction of the wedding hall added to the exceptional character of the estate.
Just 30 minutes from Grenoble, 1 hour and 20 minutes from Lyon or Valence, the high-end estate, with its impressive presence and accessible philosophy, is adaptable to all types of events.
Located between two resorts of the Vercors Natural Park, Villard-de-Lans and Lans-en-Vercors, Château des Girards offers easy access to a wide range of outdoor activities in winter (Nordic and Alpine skiing, sledding, snowshoeing…) and summer (horseback riding, golf, mountain biking, cycling, tennis, swimming, canyoning, hiking…).
